Live more independently — with the right support at home
Supported Independent Living (SIL) helps you live as independently as possible while receiving daily support in a shared home or your own home (where approved). Our team provides respectful, person-centred support designed around your goals, routines, and preferences.
We focus on: choice, dignity, safety, and building everyday skills that support long-term independence.
What is Supported Independent Living (SIL)?
SIL is funding under the NDIS for supports you need at home, including help with daily tasks and developing independent living skills. SIL is usually provided in a shared living arrangement, but may also apply in other approved settings depending on your plan and needs.
SIL supports are typically delivered:
24/7 (including overnight) or
At set times each day, depending on assessed support needs.
Who is SIL for?
SIL may be suitable if you:
Need support every day to live safely at home
Would benefit from support with routines, personal care, or meal preparation
Want to build independent living skills
Prefer living in a shared home with support workers available
Need structured support due to complex needs or safety risks
If you’re unsure, we can help you understand whether SIL or another support option (like ILO, SDA, or in-home supports) fits your situation.

Frequently asked questions
Is SIL the same as SDA?
No. SDA is funding for the home/building (specialist housing).
SIL is funding for the support services provided in the home.
Do I need SIL in my plan to get started?
If you don’t currently have SIL funded, we can still guide you on next steps and what evidence may support a request.
Can I choose who I live with in a shared home?
Yes — participant compatibility matters. We aim to match living arrangements based on preferences, routines, and support needs.
